Back on Earth, Alan and Scotty were preparing for the media, who were organising the telecommunication networks all around the world. The biggest problem they were having was keeping the exact location of the meeting from the public and journalists. Everyone in Alan and Scotty’s immediate family were sworn to secrecy, as were the president’s staff. Willy was a different kettle of fish. Secrets were not his speciality, so he was simply told they would be meeting the Univians at a secret location, If someone did get hold of information, it was highly unlikely they would work out the rendezvous.

Alan’s phone rang with the president wanting more information, like what size aircraft the airstrip on the station would accommodate.

‘Certainly not Air Force One,’ Alan replied. ‘We will have to change to a smaller plane in Sydney, a 36-seat 200 series Dash 8 will land OK, though I’ll find out for certain. There should be twenty-eight of us on board between Sydney and the cattle station. We’re all set to arrive on the 20th September.’
